There is a fundamental problem in the interwiki connections - variations in the sense of the terms in different languages. This issue blossoms when being touched such pages as disambiguation pages. Among them - pages (articles?) with lists and/or information about names and surnames. One extreme is to connect the names with fully equal meaning and spelling which is useful only for a small count of similar languages (a group of european languages, may be slavic or chinese dialects) or leads to no connections at all. The other extreme is to include all possible links to variants in other language, but this is hard to implement when there are hundreds of languages and tens of variants in each. The presentation will reveal this and the other examples of "interwiki/disambiguations" problem and propose the ways to resolve it.

Ambiguous interwikis is the single most interesting topic for me in all of the Wikimedia projects. I really hope to see this presentation. Amir E. Aharoni
